Diamonds are a girl's best friend

Today deco-fanatics, we'll be making an easy diamond encrusted/decked out container. You can use this tutorial on anything, but for now we'll be using a container. (Cr: Deco&Deco)

What you will need:


(From left to right: tweezers, rhinestones, stranded rhinestones, deco glue/super glue, (not shown)pliers/scissors)

Step 1: Start by gathering all your decorating items, place them on a steady surface near you, for quick reach (the glue dries quickly, depending on what you use), also make sure your base in prepped (mn: your item should be clean, this can be accomplished with rubbing alcohol and a cleaning cloth.). Now take the strand of rhinestone (or stranded rhinestones) and measure them around your container (or item).

Step 2: Once you've measured your item, take your pliers or scissors and cut it to your desired length.


Step 3: Take your glue and glue the strand around your item. Now, start selecting large rhinestones and place it on the side of the item, until you get to the center, then glue.


Step 4: Begin adding/gluing the largest rhinestones on the side of the item, leaving room for smaller rhinestones on the center.


Step 5: Begin adding/gluing the med/smaller sized stones around the large stones. Like the picture.


Step 6: Being very careful (you may need tweezers). Add/glue the smaller gems.



Step 7: Repeat step 6, make sure you scatter them, for a strewn/messy but organized look.



Step 8: Start by taking the smallest gems and adding a few to the large gems for the conglomerate/stone look. And you're done!

Red, White, Blue Diamondites

Today deco-fanatics, we'll be making a simple diamond pattern cellphone case. You can use this tutorial on anything, but for now we'll be using a cellphone case. (Cr: Deco&Deco)

What you will need:


(From left to right: tweezers, rhinestones (3 colors), cellphone, deco glue/super glue)

Step 1: Start by gathering all your decorating items, make sure your base is prepped (mn: your item should be clean, this can be accomplished with rubbing alcohol and a cleaning cloth.). Now take your cellphone or a cellphone case and select your three colors of choice.


Step 2: I'm going to use the colors (red/white/blue). Begin adding your rhinestones like the photo. The line up is: 1-2-1-2. Pretending that each color is a letter: Red-R, Blue-B, and White-W. The pattern for the first row should be: 1-R, 2-B, 1-R, 2-W. Red is the background color and is use alternatively.


Step 3: When you get to the end, add a tiny rhinestone (smaller than one you are using). So if you're using 6-8mm then use a 5mm sized rhinestone for the ending/enclosure.


Step 4: 2nd row- 1-R, 1-B, 2-R, 1-W, and so on.
3rd row- 1sm-R, All (R).


Step 5: 4th row- Switch colors from the first row. Ex: 1-R, 1-W, 2-R, 1-B, 2-R, 1-W, 2-R, 1-B, 2-R, etc.
5th row- 1sm-R, 2-W, 1-R, 2-B, 1-R, 2-W, etc.


Step 6: 6th row- 3-W, 3-B, 3-W, 3-B, 3-W, etc.
7th row- Repeat rows 5,6,3,4*,5*,6*.

*Use alternate colors like the steps 1&2 (deco corner picture for example).

The Black Pearl

Blurry picture aside this nail set is really pretty and perfect for formal or non-formal events such as: school or work and the pop of color on the fourth nail definately gives it an informal look which is perfect for those events.

What you will need:


(From left to right: black & white nail polish, rhinestones (of color), white pearls, and jewel picker)

Step 1: Start by painting all four of your nails black (except for one, that will be the the white nail) this saves time, painting all of them rather than repeating the same steps over and over again.

Step 2: Add a top coat to the 4 black nails or 8 if you're doing the full set for both hands.

Step 3: Begin adding the pearls, following the patterns of (1, 2, 1, 2) for each row. (As seen in the picture).
Step 4: Take the two remaining nails and paint them white. When you're finish add a top coat.

Step 5: Starting with the bow. Start outward and then work inwards- meaning: begin by adding four silver rhinestone (or color of your choice) at the end of either side of the nail (like so- add picture)

Step 6: Decresing one rhinestone as you get closer to the center. So, the first row was four, the next will be three and so on until you have just one rhinestone for the center.

An alternative to this is, work on side, (4,3,2,1) rows, then work onto the other side (2,3,4). You're forgetting about the one because that will be your center/knot for the bow.

Step 7: Just begin placing rhinestone onto your nail, but in varying places, like the picture you could do 3 (like a triangle) and two at the bottom like a slighted line.

Step 8: Add a thick top coat and you're done!

* Make sure you use a large rhinestone for the knot.

A is for Anchors

Forgetting fall all together, I want to think about warm weather, and what puts in the mindset of warmer weather than...anchors!

Here's a quick nail tutorial for anchors (which have nothing to do with fall).

What you will need:

Step 1: Prep your nail, make sure it's clean and clear with no sticky residue or dirt. Use nail remover to ensure cleanness.

Step 2: Start with your base! Paint all of your nail blue (or any color- red is good alternative). If you want the reverse effect, not shown in the video you can paint one hand blue and the other two and alternate stripe color- as seen in step 3.

Step 3: Begin painting on white stripes, just 3 stripes only (or however many your nail can hold). One near the top and the last near the bottom-leaving about 1/2 inches of space in between. (Like the example).

Step 4: Add a thick top/clear coat! This will not only make your nails look shinier and flashier but also allows an easier solution for the rhinestones to stick onto.

Step 5: Next stick on the rhinestones (large). You can use any colors but it you will would like to achieve the marine effect that we're going for I would use red, blue (lighter hues), or white.

Step 6: While the top coat is still wet, wrap the chain around the rhinestones. This gives them that marine-gritty effect we've been trying to achieve.

Step 7: For alternating fingers we want to achieve a plain yet simple beach-y look. We're going repeat steps 1-4, afterwords, we're going to add rhinestones instead of on each other side like step 5 were going to add them onto the side of our nail.

Step 8: Instead of adding more jewels and wrapping another chain, we're going to leave it as is, but feel free to continue with the video's instructions.

Step 9: Now placing your nail upside down, repeat steps 1-4 once again and make a small circle near the bottom (really the top) of the nail. Make sure you cut your chains accordingly.

- Next, make a line going up, but at a slant.

- Following after, make a 'C' facing upwards or on it's side.

- Then, near the circle cut a small piece of chain and lay it across the line, carefully.

- Lastly, add rhinestone (3) onto the side of the nail near the top, under the anchor or 'C'.

Step 10: Add a top coat and you're done!
